At the age of twelve, my mother taught me to weave on a backstrap loom. Normally in the village, this is the age at which you learn and make your trade as a woman, and it is up to you to make new designs and sell them. There are always people who take advantage us and mostly are the resellers who pay you very little but it is preferable because trying to sell it outside the village where they can pay you a higher price is not an option for me. I do this because I must have that income.
