Like all the designs in this collection, the Cestrum earrings base their shape on the flower of the plant of the same name. According to Richard E. Schultes, an American biologist of pharmacological properties of plants, the indigenous people crushed the leaves to extract the juice that was taken for fever. Another use used to be a poultice with the leaves to place on the head. And we call it short stem because the flower is attached to the earring post.
