Kiinaki Earrings - Yucca

$28

The most important food staple for indigenous communities near the Amazon and Orinoco river basins is yuca brava, a tuber that is poisonous if eaten raw. However, as the land is difficult to grow, indigenous communities have managed to make yuca the basis of their diet. After a thorough processing exercise, yuca loses its lethal properties and is converted into a variety of preparations based on the dough, such as casabe. The Kiinaki earrings pay homage to this important food for the region.

– Measurements: The earrings measure 1.3 cm long by 3 cm high.

– Material: The metal pieces are handmade in bronze and have a 24K matte gold plating. The earring post is made of hypoallergenic stainless steel.
