Moniscraft
Sandra Mónica Piedrahita Mambuscay is an artisan weaver from Santiago de Cali. At the age of 12, she learned the macramé technique from her mother, who passed this knowledge down to her. Her brand, Moniscraft, founded in Cali in 2010, explores the combination of knots as a principle of creation and design, with the goal of conveying a feeling or idea to the world. For Sandra, weaving is a magical and therapeutic activity that allows her to connect with her surroundings.
Her handmade pieces incorporate elements of inspiration that she first sketches on paper and then brings to life in the weaving, using high-quality materials such as threads, semi-precious stones, crystals, seeds, wooden beads, totumo, and coconut, sourced from artisans, communities in the Colombian Pacific, and local stores. Her collection includes earrings, necklaces, and bracelets, with careful attention to every detail of the creative and weaving process.
Moniscraft’s mission is to preserve and revive an inherited ancestral tradition that reflects cultural identity, transmit the knowledge of the craft, and showcase the biodiversity of its region through the richness of its textiles.
