Riachuelo, arroyo, or as it is known in the jungle areas, “caños”. They are rivers of shorter length and width that usually flow into rivers with a greater flow. In the Guainía, the caños are of great importance since their calm waters invite locals and tourists to dive into them to enjoy a refreshing bath.
The best known are: Caño San Joaquín, Caño Vitina, Caño Matraca, among others. The Uripau necklace and earrings are named after this important geographical feature.
