Backstrap loom weaving is a tradition in the village where I grew up, that has been going on for many generations. I have been weaving since I was very young although nowadays, not all women are dedicated to it and therefore those same women are the ones who order pieces for me and from those sales I can obtain income. Although the sale price is very low, as they don't have the means to pay higher prices, it is becoming more and more difficult to sell my pieces because my village has been taken by various armed groups. This situation prevents us from leaving our homes, so I take advantage of every opportunity to sell even if they do not pay me a fair price.
