Táabal
Táabal® is born as a company committed to the to the enhancement of the handcrafted work of the indigenous women of Chiapas. We are focused mainly in textile art, and we have developed deep links with the communities and groups of weavers in different parts of this region. Under the strict establishment of fair trade policies, we take on the task of evaluating the traditional production processes offering new modalities of productive organization and establishing fair payments according to the complexity, time and knowledge used in each of the pieces we make. We focus our efforts on quality control by taking the raw materials to the communities and establishing standards, both in the production processes and in the working tools and the own craftsmanship execution of each one of the fabrics, embroideries and in general all the craftsmanship processes involved in our pieces. Táabal® was born in 2014 with the collaboration of almost 30 indigenous artisans from the Tzotzil and Tzeltal regions and in 2019 we surpassed one hundred artisans who collaborate continuously and whose income comes totally or mostly from the project. We are very proud of this achievement!
