In the Curripaco cosmogony, Kuwai is the master god of crafts and manual work. When Kuwai came into the world without a mouth, but brought music with him, his whole body was an instrument and he spoke through the flute sounds he made with his fingers. With his music he expanded the world to its current size and populated it with animals, teaching each one to communicate with their own voice. The Kuwai earrings tell the story of this indigenous god.
–Measurements: The earrings measure 6 cm long by 7 cm high
– Material: The metal pieces are handcrafted in bronze and have a 24K matte gold plating. The earring post is made of hypoallergenic stainless steel. The earrings are inspired by the indigenous Curripacos of Guainía, and their Cumare weaving is done by artisans from Lleva Alguito Pues, a collective of artisans from the Moravia neighborhood in Medellín who support women in different vulnerable situations.
