The weaving inside these earrings is known as chumbe and is done by the women of the Inga and Kamentsä communities, who by mixing different colors create drawings with various meanings. The Muyuna earrings can be worn in three ways: you can wear them with the curve of the earring inwards, also with the curve outwards, or you can also wear only the bar of the earring if you are looking for a simple accessory. Muyuna in the Inga language means curve.
– Measurements: The earrings measure 1.6 cm long by 2.7 cm high.
– Material: The metal pieces are handmade in bronze and have a 24K matte gold plating. The top of the earrings is made of hypoallergenic stainless steel. The cotton weaving is done by Inga-Kamentsä indigenous people from Putumayo, a department in southern Colombia.
