In the plots of the Conucos we find not only a great variety of fruits, vegetables and tubers but also other types of plants that serve the indigenous people for the realization of their famous crafts. The most important of all is the Chiqui Chiqui or Marama palm which has been used since ancient times for the roofing of houses and more recently for the elaboration of crafts. The Panapje earrings pay homage to this plant and many others that thanks to their leaves have helped the development of the communities of this region.
